Revamping of Jinnah Hospital, Lahore
Improving existing health facilities available at the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore
Jinnah Hospital Lahore, initially an 1100 Bed Tertiary Care hospital, after addition of new specialities/departments and completion of 4th floor, will have over 1500 beds now. The hospital is attached to Allama Iqbal Medical College and provides teaching facilities and training to undergraduate medical students.
There is a problem of seepage in the building which is damaging it and reducing its life. The plinth level of the hospital is lower than the road and this leads to flooding of the premises in rains. There is an urgent need for a disposal station.
IDAP assessed the present building facilities through its specialised consultants to gauge the quality systems present in the hospital. Report prepared by the specialised consultants has provided bases for the up gradation and modernisation of the facility. It is essential to remove the primary infrastructural faults which include resolving general maintenance and repair issues, improving sanitary systems and washrooms, rehabilitation and up gradation of electricity systems and elevators.
Jinnah Hospital has been ranked as the best teaching hospital, structured on modern lines. The institution is providing best health care delivery system at one end and at the same time, serving as best teaching aid for the students of its allied Allama Iqbal Medical College. IDAP’s implementation of the project would serve the dual purpose of providing clinical coverage to the patients as well as fulfilling academic needs of students of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore and College of Physician and Surgeon of Pakistan for post graduating training.
